Tithes and Offerings Part 2

       Welcome back everyone to part 2 of the tithing and offering series. I will expound further on tithing as a commandment that was given by God. I also will define the words commandment and tithe as it pertains to our subject matter. Firstly, as I pointed out in my last blog , that the giving of tithes was a commandment. God gave this commandment to his servant Moses and he in turn communicated this command to the church in the wilderness (the children of Israel). The word commandment in it's relations to tithes is a word of action. This word is most commonly associated with the term "keep." Therefore, we are to keep, obey, perform, and follow this commandment faithfully. When we for whatever reasons we choose NOT to give our tithes.We are in WILLFUL DISOBEDIENCE to the commandment given by our God. In Deuteronomy 14:28 God commanded the children of Israel to give tithes of ALL their increase and this commandment  was reiterated in Nehemiah 10:38 and in Malichi 3:10. In Luke 11:42 our Lord Jesus Christ in his discourse with the Pharisees told them not to neglect judgement or the love of God in addition to giving their tithes. The word tithe means the tenth part(10%). Henceforth, we are to OBEY the COMMANDMENT given by God. As Malichi 3:10a states: " Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house."  Remember!!! God has magnified his word above ALL his name.
