Tithing and Offering Part 4
Welcome everyone. We are continuing with part 4 of the tithing and offering Series. So far God has established a precedent(ruling) in his word of what condition those things we present to him should be in. ALL Tithes and Offerings presented to him MUST be holy and without blemish(SIN). God is now going to expound for us in further terms of what the connection is between the word holy and tithes. As I explained in my last blog, a tithe is the tenth part(10%) of something given from a whole(100%). In Leviticus 27:32c God himself tells us that the tenth part (10%) is holy unto him. However, this precedent that was established by God in the book of Leviticus can be seen in Genesis 14:18-21. Being put into action first by the father of our FAITH, Abraham. Who gave a tenth part (10%) of ALL that he had to King Melchizedek the high priest of God. Whom by the way was a type of Christ in the old testament. The word holy as defined by Vine's dictionary of bible words. Means people, places, or things that God sets apart for specific purposes for himself, his kingdom and for the work to be done therein. The word holy also defines the character and nature of a person. As well as those things being offered up to God as pure and clean (free from SIN). There is NO better example to define what God has outlined for us in Leviticus 27:32c, than that of our Lord Jesus Christ. As a sacrifice offered up for our SINS, he had NO Spot or blemish whatsoever. Being whole and complete(perfect). As the Son of man, his character and nature was pure religiously, morally, and ethically. To reiterate all that has been said for clarity. God tells us in his word( refer back to Leviticus 27:32c) That the tenth part(tithe or 10%) are to be set apart as holy for specific purposes commanded by him. For us of the church today those purposes are: 1. For the building and maintaining of the kingdom of God here on earth. 2. To further the gospel message of Jesus Christ and 3. For the building, growth, and maintainence of the church. Therefore, the condition of our tithes MUST meet God's standards for holiness in order to: 1. be accepted by him. 2. be used for the work in his kingdom here on earth. 3. Further the gospel message of Jesus Christ. 4. Build, grow and to maintain the church. And 5. Receive our blessings from God when he open the windows of heaven. Pouring out upon our lives blessings in such a way that there will not be room enough for us to recieve it all. Next week Part 5 of this series I will blog about tithes that are acceptable and unacceptable to GOD. I love you all and God bless you Greatly and Richly in all things in our Lord Jesus Christ.
