Word of God 1c: Rebuking
I greet and welcome you all in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. So far in our word of God series I talked about what the word of God and the scriptures are and meant. I also spoke about and defined what the word teaching meant. All this was done expounding on 2 Timothy 3:16-17 from the NIV. From where I explained the purpose of the scriptures(the recorded spoken word of God). This next word that will be defined and discussed in God's curriculum will be the word rebuking.
- Rebuke- Both the Webster's Dictionary and the Roget's Thesaurus defines the word rebuke in the following manner:
- Words expressive for STRONG disapproval.
- To castigate for the PURPOSE of improving.
- To criticize for a fault or OFFENSE.
- To criticize or reprove SHARPLY.
Rebuking is a reprimand from God with sharp words. Expressing God's STRONG disapproval as well as HIS dissatisfaction with our words, thoughts, and actions as his people. By calling to our attention those offenses and behaviors that are contrary to his holy word and are in violation of HIS commandments, laws, statutes, ordinances, and instructions etc. that God himself appointed for us to keep, obey, follow, and APPLY in our daily lives. Rebuking also serves for improving and maturing us in Christ Jesus as well as a people being prepared for ETERNAL LIFE. Making us the church ready for the return of our Lord Jesus. A people of God Fit and ready to occupy the place that our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ went to prepare for us to dwell for ALL ETERNITY with himself and God our Father in his eternal kingdom. Please!!! Read the gospel of John 14:2-3. God Bless you ALL in EVERYTHING in heavenly places in Jesus Christ our Lord and here on this earth. Amen.
