Word of God 1d: Correction

I welcome you all in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. I speak the grace and peace of God, along with his blessings and favor into EVERY area of your lives in the name Jesus Christ our Lord. So far the words teaching and rebuking in our word of God series have both been defined and discussed. Now we turn to the word correction to define and expound on. We are going to continue our lesson from 2 Timothy 3:16-17 from the NIV version. Correction: The Strong's Concodance defines this word as straightening up again with the word reformation, giving us the sense of how this word is being applied within the context of this verse. The Vine's Dictionary of bible words defines this word in the sense of moral correction with the word chasten being synonymous with the word correction. Webster's Dictionary describes this word as the act or process of correcting and the Roget's Thesaurus explains this word as a penalty imposed for wrong doing. To chasten is to castigate f...

Word of God 1c: Rebuking

I greet and welcome you all in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. So far in our word of God series I talked about what the word of God and the scriptures are and meant. I also spoke about and defined what the word  teaching meant. All this was done expounding on 2 Timothy 3:16-17 from the NIV. From where I explained the purpose of the scriptures (the recorded spoken word of God ). This next word that will be defined and discussed in God's curriculum will be the word rebuking. Rebuke- Both the Webster's Dictionary and the Roget's Thesaurus defines the word rebuke in the following manner: Words expressive for STRONG disapproval. To castigate for the PURPOSE of improving. To criticize for a fault or OFFENSE. To criticize or reprove SHARPLY. So when the Apostle Paul tells Timothy that the scriptures are also for rebuking( NIV ) this is the message he is communicating to us of the church:      Rebuking is a reprimand from God with sharp words. Expressing G...

Word of God Part 1b: Teaching

Grace and peace from God our Father and our Lord Jesus Christ, Welcome. We are continuing from our last week's lesson of the word of God series. I began this series discussing the purpose that the word of God serves in our lives. Our lesson will continue from the book of 2 Timothy 3:16 from the NIV. The first word from God's curriculum will be the word teaching, which would be taken from the NIV also. Teaching (2 Timothy 3:16):   Webster's Dictionary defines this word as  a doctrine or precept. While the Roget's Thesaurus defines this word as the act, process, or art of imparting knowledge or skill. The King James Version( KJV ) , has the word doctrine as the first word which carries the same meaning as the word teaching for this particular context of scripture. However I would be amiss not to include the word instruct which is synonymous with the word  teach.  Instruct is defined as to give orders to. In other words to instruct someone ...

Word of God: The Purpose Of God's Part 1a

Greetings to You all in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and grace and peace from God our Father. The word of God series will open from 2 Timothy 3:16-17.      2 Timothy 3:16-17 " All Scripture is God breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness. So that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work." NIV. These two verses of scripture informs us of the church as well as ANYONE that God draws to himself the purpose of the holy Scriptures. These two verses of scripture reveals God's curriculum for the development, growth, and maturity of his people in addition to those who are given the invitation( call ) to SALVATION. Verse 17a of 2 Timothy 3:16-17 lays out for us the benefit that the holy Scriptures plays in the life of every believer from the pulpit to the door. For us to appreciate this lesson and this entire series. Each area of God's curriculum MUST!!!! be defined, starting with wh...

Word Of God: Introduction

Greetings to You all in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. I also would like to say thank you to all who read my blogs. Just to reiterate, my desire is to ONLY lift up Jesus Christ and his holy name. In addition to magnify God and glorify him in ALL that I do and say as well as how I live my life before HIM. To write what the LORD God speaks and NOT out of my own mind or heart. The word of God tells us that NO MAN knows their own heart because our hearts are desperately wicked and evil. This has been the case for mankind from the VERY beginning. Please!!! Read Genesis Chapter 3. The hearts of mankind has NEVER CHANGED, in fact our hearts can be ONLY BE CHANGED BY God ALONE!!! By HIS grace through through FAITH in his holy child Jesus Christ our redeemed and the propitiation for our SINS. Being washed in HIS PRECIOUS BLOOD thoroughly CLEANSED from ALL unrighteousness. From ALL sins past, present, and future as well as the GUILT of SIN. Becoming NEW creatures i...
