Tithes and Offerings Part 3
Last blog I defined the words commandment and tithe. This blog I will be writing about how we are to present our tithes to God. First, our motives must be right. Our motive should always be to honor God for who he is, not to recieve a blessing or to get stuff from him. It should also be done because we love him and that love is shown by obeying the commandment he gave to tithe. Malichi 3:10a says " Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house. " kjv. Other examples for the right motive when tithing are: 1. For the work to be done in God's kingdom and 2. For the advancement of the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. Next, God gave specific instructions of what condition the sacrifice presented to him should be in. The sacrifice presented was to be without blemish. Read Leviticus 1:10, 3:1, 4:3, and 5:18.
