  Last blog I defined the words commandment and tithe. This blog I will be writing about how we are to present our tithes to God. First, our motives must be  right. Our motive should always be to honor God for who he is, not to recieve a blessing or to get stuff from him. It should also be done because we love him and that love is shown by obeying the commandment he gave to tithe. Malichi 3:10a says " Bring ye  all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house. " kjv. Other examples for the right motive when tithing are: 1. For the work to be done in God's kingdom and 2. For the advancement of the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. Next, God gave   specific instructions of what  condition the sacrifice presented to him should be in. The sacrifice presented was to be without blemish. Read Leviticus 1:10, 3:1, 4:3, and 5:18. In Matthew 5:23-24 Jesus tells us to leave our gifts(sacrifices/offerings) at the alter and settle any issues( if any )...

       Welcome back everyone to part 2 of the tithing and offering series. I will expound further on tithing as a commandment that was given by God. I also will define the words commandment and tithe  as it pertains to our subject matter. Firstly, as I pointed out in my last blog , that the giving of tithes was a commandment. God  gave this commandment to his servant Moses and he in turn communicated this command to the church in the wilderness   ( the children of Israel ). The word commandment in it's relations to tithes is a word of action. This word is most commonly associated with the term " keep." Therefore, we are to keep, obey, perform, and follow this commandment faithfully.      My hope and prayer is for this series was to give a clear understanding of God what means when he commands us to be holy as he is holy. When we live in holiness unto God, His  character, nature, and person should be see as a beacon of light for All to see. In EVERYTHING  that we  do and say, especially  in the manner inwhich we think.  Being holy as God is holy shows our Father in heaven that we deep concern for  all things that pertain to him and his kingdom. To those around us it will be able to witness for them as to the true nature and person of God.     There are four scriptures from the old testament that sets the tone for our series, when God commandment for his people to be holy as he is holy. These four scriptures comes from: Leviticus 11:44-45, 19:2, and 20:7. There is ONLY one scripture that comes from the new testament that reiterates this commandment which is 1 Peter 1:16. In the book of Leviticus beginning at verse 44 the commandment was given and in verse 45 it was reiterated.When we get to chapter 19 verse 2 God confirms it and in chapter 20 verse 7 it is bonded.     Greetings readers, today we are going to find out together from the heart and mind of our God what he meant when he gave the commandment  for his people to be holy as he is holy.
